[Money] Making Money Through Online Surveys

When I was a PhD student, I was desperate for money because I didn’t have much money.

So I used to fill out a lot of online surveys- For at least 3-4 years-

And my conclusion is that unless you do not have other ways to make money, online surveys are not a good way to make money.

I calculated how much I spent and how much I earned and it comes about $1-$2 dollars an hour, which is more than nothing but not the best way to earn money.

So should we never fill out online surveys?

Not really, there are some surveys that reward you well.

I have joined the Amazon Panel and I occasionally get surveys from Amazon where they usually reward with $5 for 30 minutes.

Not bad- I just listen to a podcast and I fill it out. And love getting the Amazon gift card.

Etrade and Lending Club also sent me surveys and rewarded me between $5-$10 in less than an hour 😀

So I do fill out those surveys that pay a bit better than $1-$2 an hour.

However, if you have no other way to make money, then online surveys at least will get you $1-$2.

Overall, online surveys are not the best way to make money unless you have no other way to do so.
