[People] Yiran Fan

Yiran Fan was a fourth year PhD student of the joint finance and economic program at the University of Chicago. He was shot dead from a shooting spree.

It really broke my heart because he died of senseless violence.

He had so much ahead of him.

Research is fun but most of the times it is quite hard and stressful.

He was almost done with the program and he could have shown all of his potential and more.

It is tragic he passed away. Even more sad because of senseless violence.

It makes me even sadder because Chicago, the city that I really love, has become an extremely violent place.

Friends that live in Chicago, definitely, don’t go out as much. Especially, now- If they do, they are driving…

So sad that Chicago has got out of control. Hope they vote better. They need to really stop the shooting epidemic.

Please consider supporting cureviolence, they take a community oriented approach to decrease violence.

Praying for Chicago and the world. God bless America.

Thank You Jesus for another blessed day. Let us always remember to be thankful for every day and give You all the glory Amen.

Rejoice at all times. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in every circumstance, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
