So many vaccine news including Gilead, Moderna, and more…
Yet none of them work right now. Of course, firms are pouring money and the best people are working very hard.
We should definitely appreciate all the dedication and effort.
However, we need to remind ourselves that creating vaccines is not easy-
When I heard that in six months that there would be a vaccine, I was like probably not-
R&D doesn’t work just because you pour a lot of money into it-
Research is challenging-
Now there is expectations that vaccines will be ready by summer of 2021 and others claim may be winter of 2021.
I think the vaccines may be ready by then? But would be less optimistic.
The sad or funny thing is that markets move up and down with the possibility of a vaccine that won’t come right now…
Now the bigger question is what happens if the vaccines won’t be ready?
Not much, life has to go on. People need to work and survive. So economies will open up and we will do our best to protect those who are more vulnerable to COVID19.
More importantly, I think we need a deep discussion on what policies need to be improved in cases of the pandemic.
As of now, the cure really seems to be much worse than the disease.
